  • New leadership elected for the UA Board of Regents

    November 15, 2019

    The University of Alaska Board of Regents elected new leadership on Nov. 7. Sheri Buretta, who presently serves as vice chair, will replace John Davies as chair. Karen Perdue will serve as vice chair. Dale Anderson and Lisa Parker will continue in their roles as secretary and treasurer respectively.

  • Dr. Math Trafton to serve as Interim UAS Sitka Campus Director

    Dr. Math Trafton will serve as Interim Director at the Sitka campus of the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) once the post is vacated by Leslie Gordon. Dr. Trafton will begin his interim position December 8, 2019, and the search for a permanent director of the Sitka campus will begin in January 2020.

  • Steve Patin to lead Human Resources at the University of Alaska

    University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen announced today that Steven J. Patin has been named Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the university and will assume his new position on Oct. 25. Patin, who succeeds Keli Hite-McGee, currently is vice president at Alaska Communications overseeing all aspects of the company's customer service functions. He leads the field operations, information technology, and the corporate program management teams.
