Fall back: daylight saving time ends Nov. 3

This weekend, clocks will turn back time by one hour. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. Monday will start on time whether you do or not, so be sure to change your alarm clock when you go to bed on Saturday! Most electronics like cell phones and computers will adjust to daylight saving time as long as the automatic network time and time zone settings are on and your device is connected to a network or Internet.

UAA's College of Health awarded $1.77 million from Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska

Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, a leading health plan in the state, announced a $5.7 million investment to support access to rural health care in Alaska, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at an event held at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC).

Regents adopt response to accrediting agency; chancellors respond individually

Today, the University of Alaska Board of Regents adopted its official response to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and authorized Board Chair John Davies to provide it to the accrediting agency by Oct. 31, along with the individual responses from the three university chancellors.

University of Alaska joins collaborative to address sexual and gender harassment in higher education

The University of Alaska has joined National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and 60 colleges, universities, and research institutions to launch an Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education. The action collaborative is a four-year commitment that focuses on the faculty role and engagement in Title IX.

UA Board of Regents to hold special meeting, public testimony October 28
October 18, 2019
The University of Alaska Board of Regents will hold a special board meeting 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28. Statewide audio conference public testimony will be held later that day, from 4-5 p.m. Call 1-866-726-0757 to join the queue for testimony.

A 2017 University of Alaska television and radio campaign was revamped with the goal of supporting the UAA, UAF and UAS student recruitment efforts as well as to reassure Alaskans that despite a long and exhausting budget battle, and the uncertainties created by restructuring discussions, all three universities, and all rural campuses, were open and accepting students.
